The program aimed to deliver high-resolution spatial data on shallow hydrogen anomalies, crucial for refining drill targeting in the clean hydrogen model. QIMC reports that the survey sample density was unprecedented for natural hydrogen exploration, with samples collected at 100 m spacing in key areas.
Preliminary data show multiple hydrogen anomalies, some correlating with known structural features and resistivity lows. This new dataset will feed into QIMC’s Phase 2 planning, focusing on mapping fault corridors and potential hydrogen migration pathways. The company expects to integrate this information with existing gas monitoring and seismic data to build a more detailed geological model. A full geochemical summary is expected in the coming weeks, with prioritization of zones for follow-up drilling.
QIMC’s approach underscores the evolving strategy in natural hydrogen exploration—using noninvasive soil gas surveys ahead of more costly drilling—and places Temiscamingue among North America’s more advanced clean hydrogen targets.
