McFarlane Lake Mining Limited reported near-surface gold results from its ongoing drilling at the ‘826’ zone within its 100 percent-owned Juby Gold Project near Gowganda, Ontario, in the southern Abitibi Greenstone Belt. Drill hole JU8-26-142, located within about 33 metres of surface, returned 6.58 grams per tonne gold over 10.35 metres, which lies within a broader intersection of 3.32 grams per tonne gold over 22.35 metres. The hole also included higher-grade subintervals with grades up to 12.33 grams per tonne over narrower widths, indicating a concentrated zone of gold mineralization. The company has logged visible gold in this hole and reports that mineralization appears to extend southwest and remains open along strike. In response to these encouraging results, McFarlane Lake Mining has increased its drilling plan by adding an extra 400 metres of drilling, bringing additional metres planned within the ‘826’ zone to about 1,000 metres. Earlier in the campaign, the company had already expanded drilling by 500 to 600 metres. The program aims to further define gold continuity and extend mineralization along this zone before moving to additional target areas on the property. The announcement underscores advancing exploration at Juby with evidence of higher-grade near-surface gold.
