Cadillac Mines Corporation has reported the first assay results from its post-resource infill drilling program at the Kerr-Addison open pit in Virginiatown, Ontario. Results cover 29 drill holes totalling 11,569 metres from a planned 17,850 metres of infill drilling within the open-pit resource.
Hole KAD26-397 returned 2.13 grams per tonne gold over 38.2 metres estimated true width inside the current resource pit, about 175 metres below surface. The company said the mineralized footwall panel is substantially wider than previously modelled, with the added width representing material not included in the current mineral resource estimate.
Hole KAD26-428T returned 3.08 grams per tonne gold over 22.7 metres estimated true width, including 5.26 grams per tonne over 6.4 metres. Other results include 1.94 grams per tonne over 9.2 metres in KAD26-476 and 1.52 grams per tonne over 13.2 metres in KAD25-386.
The drilling is testing lesser-drilled footwall zones within and near the Kerr-Addison pit. Cadillac Mines Corporation said the results could add mineralization in areas previously classified as waste, reduce the in-pit strip ratio and support upgrading inferred resources to indicated. Infill drilling is continuing toward the pit margins and within the pit.
