Fancamp Exploration Ltd. has entered a significant option agreement with Harfang Exploration Inc. to acquire up to an 80 % interest in the Egan gold property, located in Ontario’s Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The first phase allows Fancamp to earn 40 % by issuing shares and cash and funding C$1.5 million in exploration over two years. After this earn-in, Harfang can either convert to a 51/49 joint venture or Fancamp may acquire an additional 40 % to reach 80 %.
Simultaneously, Fancamp is initiating a strategic corporate reorganization to split its financial-asset portfolio from its exploration holdings. The financial entity will manage royalties, investments and non-operational assets, while the exploration entity will focus on high-potential gold and base-metal projects like Egan. This separation is aimed at sharpening investment focus, attracting targeted capital, and unlocking shareholder value. Fancamp’s chief executive remarked that the dual-track structure reinforces clarity and positions both arms of the company for optimized growth trajectories.
The combined moves—securing the Egan deal and restructuring the business—mark a pivotal moment for Fancamp as it transitions toward disciplined exploration while maintaining control over legacy financial assets.
