iMetal Resources has launched its 2025 Phase I drill program at the Gowganda West gold project in Ontario, focusing on expanding the 2023 discovery zone. Drilling will cover approximately 2,000 meters across 4 to 6 holes, targeting the IMGW23-04 intercept—48.5 m at 0.85 g/t Au—as a starting point to extend mineralization laterally and at depth. The company will also test additional bands in the footwall for secondary mineral zones.
The Gowganda West property hosts a package of Timiskaming metasediments with roughly 7 km of strike and up to 5 km width. Previous exploration to the southwest revealed increasing alteration and gold values trending northwest toward the discovery. The property sits near other active gold projects, enhancing its strategic potential.
Drilling will be carried out by Diafor Inc., with technical supervision by Laurentia Exploration. iMetal views this program as a pivotal next step in validating and growing its gold footprint. Assay results are awaited and will guide future drilling decisions.
