Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Mirado Project, a strategically located gold property in the Kirkland Lake region of Ontario. This acquisition expands the company’s footprint in one of Canada’s most prolific gold districts, adding ground with a compelling history of high-grade gold occurrences. The Mirado property hosts a historical gold zone defined by past work that reported significant intercepts, offering exploration upside adjacent to the company’s existing land package.
Under the terms of the agreement, Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. will issue shares and make staged cash payments to earn its interest in the Mirado Project, with closing subject to customary regulatory approvals, including TSX Venture Exchange consent. The company plans to integrate Mirado into its broader generative and drill target pipeline, with plans for follow-up surface mapping and geophysics ahead of future drilling.
CEO Stefan Sklepowicz commented that the acquisition enhances the company’s ability to test newly interpreted structural corridors and extends its strategic position in the Kirkland Lake camp. By consolidating ground near known mineralized trends, Kirkland Lake Discoveries aims to leverage its expanding land base to pursue gold discovery opportunities across multiple targets.
