Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. (TSXV: KLDC) has received final approval from the TSX Venture Exchange for its recent property acquisitions and has commenced its 2025 exploration season in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The company’s focus is on copper-zinc-silver-gold targets, particularly around the underexplored Winnie Lake Pluton. The field program includes geological mapping, sampling, and preparation for a drilling campaign set to begin in late June. Historical drilling in the area, notably by Pamorex Resources in 1989, intersected significant mineralization, including 1.93% Cu, 1.51% Zn, 0.786 g/t Au, and 12.1 g/t Ag over 18.41 meters. KLDC aims to build upon these results with modern exploration techniques to assess the potential of a volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) system. The company’s CEO, Stefan Sklepowicz, emphasized the strategic importance of the region, citing the alignment of geophysical signatures and geochemical anomalies as indicators of a promising mineralizing system. With permits secured and field activities underway, KLDC is poised to advance its exploration objectives in this historically significant mining district.
