Volta Metals Ltd. reported results from drill hole SL26-35 at its Springer Rare Earth Element deposit in Ontario, intersecting 688 metres of continuous carbonatite mineralization from approximately 5 metres to 693 metres depth. The hole represents the deepest completed on the property to date and ranks among the widest continuous carbonatite drill intersections reported globally.
The drill hole confirms the presence of a large, continuous carbonatite system at depth and supports the interpretation of Springer as a significant bulk-tonnage rare earth and gallium deposit. Core samples from the interval have been submitted for laboratory analysis to determine rare earth and gallium content, with assay results pending.
The company stated that the results reinforce the scale potential of the deposit and its geological model of a large, mantle-derived carbonatite body. Previous work at Springer has identified rare earth elements and gallium hosted within mineralized zones that are considered suitable for established processing methods.
Volta Metals indicated that the new drill data will support ongoing technical work, including future economic studies and open-pit design considerations, as exploration continues to define the extent and continuity of mineralization across the Springer deposit.
