Kirkland Lake Discoveries has completed a helicopter-mounted magnetotelluric (MT) geophysical survey across its KL West property in Ontario. The survey covered key zones showing sulphide potential, aiming to refine deep structural targets and areas with conductive signatures that may host intrusion-related mineralization. By integrating recent drilling, soil geochemistry, and magnetic data, the MT survey is intended to identify hidden zones at depth that conventional methods may miss.
Data collection is now in processing and interpretation phases; results will guide upcoming drill programs. The company emphasizes that MT surveys can delineate resistivity contrasts at depth, helping discriminate between barren and prospective units—or pointing to sulphide zones in blind positions. CEO Stefan Sklepowicz anticipates that the MT data will sharpen drill targeting, cut waste, and reduce exploration risk across KL West’s large land package. With the MT grid aligned over priority corridors, KLDC is positioning itself to unlock deeper targets that surface sampling and structural models alone may not capture.
