Kuya Silver Corporation has reported encouraging preliminary sampling results from historic tailings and stockpile material at its Silver Kings Project in the Cobalt mining district of Northern Ontario. The reconnaissance program evaluated seven historic above-ground material sites to assess their potential for recovering silver, cobalt and other metals using modern processing methods.
The highest values were returned from the Kerr Lake Mill crushed material stockpile, where a master composite sample from three subsamples assayed 168 grams per tonne silver and 0.365% cobalt, equivalent to 276 grams per tonne silver equivalent. Among the historic tailings, the Frontier tailings returned 75 grams per tonne silver and 0.037% cobalt, while the Canadaka tailings returned 47 grams per tonne silver and 0.010% cobalt. Of the blast material stockpiles, Silverfields produced the highest silver grade at 62 grams per tonne, while Lawson returned the highest cobalt grade at 0.184% cobalt.
The company emphasized that the results are from preliminary reconnaissance sampling and are not representative of an entire stockpile or tailings facility. Based on these results, Kuya Silver Corporation plans additional sampling, metallurgical testing and resource estimation to evaluate the potential for recovering metals from historic above-ground material across the Silver Kings Project.
